Initial - AQF Level 3 Initial Chemical Safety

Description

PRACTICAL BASED COURSE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO APPLY CHEMICALS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TRAINED.
You will be required to complete an online assessment prior to attending the face to face practical training day.
Upon successful completion a Statement of Attainment will be provided.
Depending on the state/territory you work in this may be a requirement for licensing.

Purpose

These units of competency provide the skills and knowledge required to safely prepare and apply chemicals for the control of pests, weeds and diseases and transport and store chemicals.
The unit applies to individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. They use discretion and judgement in the selection, allocation and use of available resources and for solving problems.
State or territory licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply in some jurisdictions.

Online Theory Assessment 1: 2-4 hours, Face to Face Practical Assessment 2: 8 hours

Entry Requirements

You will be required to complete an LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) assessment prior to commencing the course to aid us in providing learning support if needed.

Qualification Requirements

Upon successful completion you will be provided with a Statement of Attainment with the following Units of Competency: Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases and Transport and store chemicals

Assessment Requirements

Assessment is via blended learning. Online theory and assessment (at your own pace) prior to the course. Then class room based theory plus outdoor group learning to provide foundation learning for individual practical assessment in a simulated work environment on the afternoon of the face to face training day.

Delivery Mode

Delivery of this course is via blended learning. Online theory and assessment (at your own pace) prior to the course. Then class room based theory plus outdoor group learning based practical followed by individual practical assessment in a simulated work environment at the face to face training day.

Materials or Equipment Required

You will be required to wear covered footwear, provide your own PPE (gloves and protective eye wear), provide your own pen (no pencils allowed) and sunscreen/hat/water if the weather is hot. Learner training is supported at the face to face training day by the provision of quality learning materials and resources.
