Description
PRACTICAL BASED COURSE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO WORK UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF OTHERS TO APPLY CHEMICALS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TRAINED BEFORE.
You will be required to complete Assessment 1 online prior to attending the face to face practical training day.
Upon successful completion a Statement of Attainment will be provided.
Depending on the state/territory you work in this may be a requirement for licensing.
In NSW if your previous accreditation is more than 6 months out of date you cannot complete the Update course you are required to complete the initial course again.
Purpose
This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to safely work with chemicals under the direct supervision of a person who has a Level 3 Statement of Attainment.
Career Pathways
This course may be a statutory requirement in your State of Territory. You will need to check with your local authorities to determine this. After successfully completing this course and gaining experience in the workplace you can then progress to complete AHCSS000074 and work without supervision when using AgVet chemicals in the workplace.
Duration
6 hours made up of online content prior to attending the 8 hours of the Face to Face session.
Assessment
There are 2 sessions. The first session is training which is completed Online (at your own pace). The second session consists of theory and practical training and assessment and is completed at the face to face training day.
Session 1 – Online content: up to 6 hours. Session 2 – Face to Face Theory/Practical Training and Assessment: 8 hours
Entry
You will be required to be a minimum of 18 years old and to complete an LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) assessment prior to commencing the course to ensure you meet the entry requirements of the course and to aid us in providing learning support if needed.
Upon Successful Completion
You will be provided with a Statement of Attainment with the following Unit of Competency:
AHCCHM201 Apply chemicals under supervision.
Equipment/Materials
You will be required to wear long pants and sleeves and covered footwear, provide your own PPE (gloves and protective eye wear), provide your own pen (no pencils allowed) and sunscreen/hat/water if the weather is hot. Learner training is supported at the face to face training day by the provision of quality learning materials and resources.
Delivery Mode
Delivery of this course is via blended learning. Online training (at your own pace) prior to the course. Then class room based theory/practical plus outdoor practical training and assessment in a simulated work environment at the face to face training day.
